A Dream Come True

Having a dream come true can be a surreal experience.

For the past ten years, I’ve been living my dream of visiting Japan regularly to work with private clients as a psychic intuitive.

I also teach in-person events about spiritual topics such as intuitive development, meditation, aura reading, oracle cards, and more.

These visits have also given us the opportunity to explore many different temples, shrines, and spiritual sites throughout Japan. It felt so freeing to add a new Japanese city to our bucket list, then hop on the shinkansen train during time off and quickly zip there.

During our multiple trips, I would frequently say to David, “Wouldn’t it be fun if American guests could share in this amazing experience with us?” I’d look out the bullet train window and daydream about my vision as charming towns, rivers and lush green mountains would sail by us.

I clearly saw us hosting groups of lightworkers, who would travel together to experience the beauty and spirituality of Japan, all while we connect and learn from each other. But for years, I held back because it seemed like too big of an undertaking for me.

After 14 trips where I focused on building my Japanese clientele, I finally decided to move energy towards my new dream. Last December I opened 14 spots for American participants, and then posted on social media that we were offering up this idea for the first time.

We figured it would be a good way to gauge interest but as it turned out, “Journey to Japan with Dougall and David” filled up quickly – a sign from the universe that this was indeed a good idea!

Enjoying Matcha Ice Cream Is *Always* A Good Idea In Japan 💚

This past month, that dream became a reality. Fourteen wonderful participants from the United States joined us as we lead our first Japanese adventure.

As this was our first time hosting a group, I asked for their patience, and I could immediately feel how gracious and kind their hearts were.

In a word, this trip was magical!

We explored some of our favorite sacred sites in Tokyo, such as the majestic Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine.

Our first group meal was shabu-shabu, a special Japanese dish of thinly sliced meat and vegetables, cooked in individual pots of freshly made broth. In the evening, we sailed on a Yakatabune dinner cruise with author Ken Honda as our special guest.

We enjoyed plates of crispy fried tempura, and I went from table to table encouraging people to try sashimi. We giggled and took selfies as the Tokyo skyline passed us by.

The following night, we shared a lecture co-hosted by my friend Toshi Moshikazu, one of the most prominent Reiki Masters in Japan. As I spoke, I looked into the audience and marveled at how Reiki energy can unite people of different backgrounds, all sharing the same idea. There was a clear intention to bring love, light and healing to the world.

As a group, we headed to Kyoto in the bullet train. But this time, rather than fantasizing about a potential trip, I was surrounded by the quiet conversations of our group, enjoying their bento lunches and getting to know each other.

In Kyoto, our American participants were introduced to fourteen Japanese participants who were there to connect with spirit and also to connect with other lightworkers from a different culture. Together, we visited mount Kurama, the birthplace of Reiki. As we sat in the Kurama-dera Buddhist Temple, a Buddhist monk chanted healing sutras for us as a group. The drums played, and my eyes filled with tears. We did it.

I was so proud of our participants. I was honored that my Japanese students were so kind in helping the American participants slowly climb Mt. Kurama. I was also honored that my American clients observed how to pray and honor these sacred sites. With open hearts, they were able to connect with the beauty and energy of Japan.

I was also very proud of David. I tend to have big ideas that I put on our vision board, and even when he feels a little cautious or nervous about what that entails, he always holds my hand and says, “Let’s give it a try.”

The world can often feel enormous, and what I learned about this trip is that there truly are lightworkers in every corner of the planet. If you have the opportunity to connect with them in any way, I highly encourage you to do so.

Much Love,

  1. Congrats, Dougall! I went through a very poignant spiritual awakening four years ago (found out I was born at 11:11pm) and breast cancer. I love you (have your colors book), Colette Baron-Reid and her Oracle cards as well as Yasmin Boland for her Moonology since I was also born on a full moon. My angels wanted to put me back on my spiritual path and I am glad I listened and am learning from them. I am also very drawn to the Japanese culture and food! I’m an avid gardener and we are turning our garden into a Japanese garden! I’m pretty sure I am meant to join you on this amazing journey!

    Yours with the angels, Lori

    1. Thanks for your kind words Lori, I’m glad to hear that you’re on the spiritual path. The garden sounds lovely, and I’d be delighted to have you join us in the future! 💜
